A Career with Animals

When I was 14 I began working at a local veterinary hospital and have spent nearly 20 years working with animals in various roles, always learning and gaining new skills. I take pride in my skills and ability to work with a wide variety of species for all their hoof, talon, paw and feather needs.  I have extensive experience with cats dogs, birds, pigs, goats, sheep, horses, donkeys, miniature horses and even a giraffe once!

After graduating from Cornell's Farrier Program in 2021 and an apprenticeship after, I focused Fitzgerald Farrier services on serving equine patients, with mostly therapeutic trims and shoeing.  However as more and more clients began asking if I could help with their other furry friends so we have begun to offer trimming services for many species, accepted on a case by case basis.

In addition to FFS I also work at Long Island University's College of Veterinary Medicine as an anatomy technician and am pursuing a master of biomedical science with focus on equine and farrier studies.  I also continue to work for Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists, consulting for their farrier and hoof care needs.

Our work with wine racks and other custom horseshoe has grown from something I did as gifts for family and friends for christmas one year and they generated such interest we now offer them though our website. There's nothing I find more exciting than knowing that my customers are satisfied with their purchases. Even though I’m based in NYC, I have had pieces commissioned by clients from all over the world, so if you like the works displayed on my site, please reach out.
